Nestled within a conserved shophouse, Olsen Bakehouse is a minimalist sanctuary that reimagines the traditional neighbourhood bakery. Designed with a calming, earthy palette, the space immediately invites patrons to slow down. The pristine white facade, detailed with vintage pendant lighting and sheer curtains, sets a nostalgic yet contemporary tone. Inside, the design relies on tactile, warm materials to create a welcoming, homely atmosphere. A curved microcement service counter anchors the front of house, gracefully framing the glass pastry display and espresso machine while softly contrasting with the crisp white walls. To balance the narrow floor plan, the space is cleverly divided by a transparent glass partition that offers an inviting glimpse into the open baking studio, celebrating the artisanal process behind their all-natural cakes. A floor-to-ceiling custom wood-veneer shelving unit provides functional display and a sense of architectural warmth, gently illuminated by modern track lighting. Two-tone plaster walls, blending warm sand wainscoting with soft white, echo the seamless flooring. Accented by mid-century touches bubble pendants, the bakehouse achieves a delicate harmony of rustic charm and modernism.
