Conceived as a tranquil, greenhouse-inspired oasis within the historic CHIJMES complex, Glasshouse reimagines the modern specialty coffee bar. The design is driven by a desire to create a welcoming refuge that slows down the urban pace. The minimalist interior relies on floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing ample natural daylight to flood the space and illuminate lush greenery. A bespoke coffee counter anchors the room, detailed with rustic terracotta tile cladding and warm under-shelf illumination, establishing an approachable focal point for the artisanal barista craft. To enhance the organic atmosphere, the space features soft, tactile elements. Light wood dominates the furniture palette, with elegant timber-top tables on brass bases paired with matching stools. Woven rattan screens add subtle texture and privacy without blocking light. A warm peach-toned wall with a textured finish provides a calming backdrop, featuring a minimalist pass-through window offering a glimpse into the kitchen. The result is a design-led space where quality coffee and comfort food, like their signature grilled cheese, take center stage, making every single visit truly special.
