Babysteps & Beyond
Designed by JYYJ Associates
Designed to completely dispel the sterile atmosphere of typical medical facilities, this new paediatric clinic is warm, welcoming, and kid-friendly. Custom walnut-veneer finishes provide warmth while soft forms like the curving timber reception desk ensure the entry is unintimidating. Joyful orange doors add playful visual interest alongside lit shelving. The clinic features engaging spaces. Natural light floods the waiting area, where a triangular timber bench wraps around a potted plant to create an interactive island. A royal-blue hallway guides families inside. Practical details, like a changing station with a scale, ensure function. Exam rooms feature soft-grey walls and ergonomic seating. Suspended paper lighting and subtle recessed ceiling spots provide warm illumination, while LED lighting washes gently over shelves. Combined with considered acoustic design, it creates a calm interior. The result beautifully caters to a child's wonder while offering parents a comforting environment. Thoughtfully organised around the needs of patients, it makes every visit a positive experience.
